The Tampa Bay area has several resources for
quality health care. With the partnership of five regional
hospitals, BayCare health system provides quality care. Locally,
Morton Plant Hospital has earned a reputation for being one of
the most effective, well-managed hospitals in America. Since
1999, the 687-bed community-owned hospital has been awarded 13
Top 100 Hospital designations in the areas of cardiovascular,
stroke, orthopedic and overall care by the Solucient 100 Top
Hospitals: National Benchmarks for Success. Morton Plant Mease
Health Care has several hospitals throughout North Pinellas
County including Morton Plant, Clearwater; Mease Dunedin,
Dunedin; and Mease Countryside, Safety Harbor.
Pinellas County is also home to one of the country’s largest
blood transfusion service organizations – Florida Blood
Services. FBS provides more than 650 units of blood to patients
in 34 Tampa Bay area hospitals and 80 ambulatory care centers
