Clearwater Florida Education

Clearwater is the second largest city in Pinellas County and is located in the northern portion. The Pinellas County school district mission is to: educate and prepare each student for college, career and life. The district has been recognized on the national and state levels for its efforts in education and leadership. It is the seventh-largest school district in the state and the 24th-largest district in the nation. The district has a student population of more than 101,000 at 142 school sites plus virtual school. The district offers several school options to choose from, including six elementary magnet programs, four middle school magnets, 11 high school magnets, 10 career academies, five designated career technical programs, and four elementary area magnets. Pinellas County Schools is the largest employer in the county with more than 17,000 teachers, administrators and support staff.

The post-secondary school options in the Clearwater area allow for students to continue their education at technical schools, community colleges, and both public and private colleges/ universities. Two of the largest schools are St. Petersburg College and the University of South Florida. Other choices include Everest University and National Aviation Academy to name a few.
